Beyond the Grant
At Brooklyn Community Foundation we understand that investing in and supporting our nonprofit partners goes beyond a grant payment. We are continually striving to lift up their work in our outreach, create connections with other funders, donors, and Donor Advisors, and help strengthen their ability to grow and deliver on their missions. In 2023, we’re launching two exciting evolutions of this commitment: the Nonprofit Leadership Collective, and access to Resilia, an on-demand capacity building platform for nonprofits.
The Nonprofit Leadership Collective, led by our partner consultant Brooke Richie-Babbage, is bringing together a group of 40 nonprofit executive directors whose organizations serve Brooklyn (but are not necessarily funded by Brooklyn Community Foundation), to provide bi-weekly group coaching sessions, training library, workshops, and related resources over a period of six months.
We’re also rolling out our new partnership with Resilia to a cohort of 30 of our strategic grantmaking grantee partners, with a focus on BIPOC-led organizations, including organizations supported through our Spark Prize, Wellness and Recovery Fund, Immigrant Rights Fund, and Brooklyn COVID-19 Response Fund’s Community-led Social Change grantees. Organizations will have access to these features and more:
- All organization staff have access to the platform and its features
- On-demand library of online courses
- Cohort workshops
- Unlimited nonprofit coaching
- Access to document templates for internal and external communication and administration
Support for both investments comes from donors to Brooklyn Community Foundation.
