Donor Services Manager (She/Her/Hers)
Melissa joined the Foundation in February 2022. As Donor Services Manager, Melissa is responsible for providing our donor advisors with the highest level of service in support of their charitable giving. Previously, Melissa served as the Donor Services Coordinator at the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan in Montgomery, New York. In this capacity, she worked directly with DAF holders to manage their funds, facilitate their grantmaking decisions, and realize their philanthropic goals. This role also provided Melissa the opportunity to act as the Chapter Administrator for the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Mid-Hudson Valley Chapter. Most recently, Melissa was a Program Administrator at the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), working directly with scientists to fund their research to cure type 1 diabetes.
A Hudson Valley native, Melissa moved to New York City in 2021 and is thrilled to bring her community foundation experience to the Brooklyn. Her commitment to community building has led to volunteer work with many community-based organizations, including the Animal Rescue Foundation, Woodstock Farm Sanctuary, Newburgh Our Core and the Orange County Partnership, as well as serving on the board of directors for the Newburgh Urban Farm and Food Initiative. In addition to her passion for nonprofit work and community, Melissa enjoys reading, yoga, and music. You can often find her in the park with a good book or at one of Brooklyn's many concert venues.
